We know that without faith it is impossible to please him. So how do we get the attention of the author and finisher of our faith? As the author he wrote the policies, procedures, events, actions, trials and dealing for our faith. As the finisher he has perfected, proven and made it faultless and flawless even picture perfect.
It was one Wednesday night when I got a prophetic word which said God said “picture perfect”. I did not understand what the Prophetess was talking about until now. Getting the attention of the author and finisher of our faith is having him see a picture perfect, steadfastness, unmovable, continuously having faith in him. Knowing that He (author, perfecter and finisher) will do what he said he will do. It is having your heart, mind, soul, body, spirit fixed on him. We must know that only He (author, perfecter and finisher) will come through, in spite people failing us. He is still able no matter this situation, circumstances. He cannot fail. He cannot lie. He is the author, perfecter and finisher of our faith.
I firmly believe to get the attention of the author and finisher of our faith; we have to “look unto Jesus”. The word look means give the impression of being, stare, expression, aspect and gaze. The word “unto” means in the direction of, and headed for. Looking (give the impression of being, stare, expression, aspect and gaze) unto (in the direction of, and headed for) Jesus. Who is Jesus; he is the author and finisher of our faith. “. . . I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me [on Earth]. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come . . . What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.” (Isaiah 46:9-11)
I wanted to write this about getting the attention of the author and finisher of our faith giving you steps one to ten or giving some type of remedy but it better than that. You just have to look unto Jesus. Getting the attention of the author, perfecter and finisher of our faith is having a picture perfect prospective. This picture perfect prospective is looking unto Jesus. Jesus, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, Jesus, despising the shame! Jesus is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
How do we get the attention of the author, perfecter and finisher of our faith is to know that his purpose, plan and preparation was done by him, for him and to him. It is about him and you are get his attention by standing still and know that he is God. It is not wavering in the face of adversity, what He has spoken no matter is happening around you. It is not giving up the inward man but giving up your abilities to make something happen by trusting him. One thing I have learned in my walk with the Lord is that you cannot force his hand to operate on your behalf. You cannot make God do nothing. But you believing, trusting, obeying and having faith in Him will get this attention.
Here are some examples of people in the Bible who has a picture perfect prospective about their faith. Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God (Genesis 6:9) got the author, perfecter and finisher of our faith’s attention. Another person who got the author, perfecter and finisher’s attention was Job. He was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. Job 1:1. There was Enoch who walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. (Genesis 5:24). The list goes on and on and from Adam – Jesus and from Jesus to us. Yes, too gets the attention of author, perfecter and finisher of our faith but looking unto Jesus. Amen.
Within the different versions of the Bible dealing with Hebrews 12:2 uses words like fix, keep, gaze, looking, focus, looking steadfast and simply fixing our gaze on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith. As our perfecter means faultless, complete, precise, achiever, improved.
In conclusion how we get the attention of the author and finisher, the perfecter of our faith is to know that Jesus as the author is the writer, person responsible, for person behind, creator, source, cause and origin. As the finisher, Jesus ended it terminated, cease concluded, bring to an end. As the perfecter, Jesus is the faultless, completer, precise, achiever, improver of our faith.
Hebrews 11:6 states “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 12:2 states “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”. Selah!
